LIFE is such a friendly place to work out, relax and meet new people

A gym entrepreneur and qualified personal trainer, my forte is weight training, natural body building, aerobics as well as professional sales and marketing.
At LIFE we have a superb team of dedicated staff which has proved key to making the business a success.

Originally from just outside Slough, I moved to Swansea in 1977 and up until September 2008, I worked in the banking sector. I am highly skilled in customer service and administration, so running the office and reception at Life has been a very enjoyable transition.
The atmosphere here is very friendly and I particularly get a lot of satisfaction in talking with our members and assisting them in achieving their goals.

I enjoyed a successful rugby career in my youth. I have four caps for Wales Youth under 18s, three Caps for 4 Nations Youth u'18s rugby and I am still a semi-pro rugby player.
I have broad fitness qualifications and I really enjoy the one-to-one Group Personal Training sessions. The challenge is to design tailored programmes to suit our members so that each individual is working to a regime that suits their health and fitness needs and to achieve their goals.
My name is Stephen Cameron. I’m a 42 year old personal trainer living in Neath. In the past I’ve played first class rugby for Neath R.F.C, and have always been interested in keeping fit. I’ve been in the fitness industry for a number of years, firstly working as an instructor at the Marriott hotel Swansea, and also in the Afan Lido sports complex Port Talbot.18 months ago, I decided I needed to upgrade my qualifications, so I went to Cyprus for three months on a course with premier international who specifically teach people to become person trainers.
I gained a
level 3, which is the highest you can get in the UK at present, and I’m registered with R.E.P’s (Register Of Exercise Professionals). When I returned from Cyprus, I worked at the Academy of sport Llandarcy, working with elite rugby players, the Ospreys, and Swansea City AFC. Seven months ago I decided I needed a new challenge, so therefore I came to work at Life Health and Fitness.
Seven months on I’m really enjoying my time with colleagues and members and have made many new friends. Our new group personal training room is starting to get very popular. Hopefully I will continue working for Dan for the foreseeable future.

Sue, who joined Life in November 2010, is the newest team member. She has more than 26 years experience of working as a fitness instructor and personal trainer in a number of clubs and gyms in the area. She is also qualified to NVQ level 2 in circuits & weights as well as in Swiss Ball.
Prior to starting her career as a fitness instructor, Sue was an Olympic and Commonwealth gymnast, participating for the British Olympic team in Montreal in 1976 and Moscow in 1980 and winning a silver medal at the Commonwealth games in Edmonton in 1978.

I joined Life over three years ago and within a year I achieved my NVQ Level 2 Gym Instructors Qualification. In addition to my role as a fitness instructor, I also help out at reception making food, serving customers and answering the phone.
My job is very rewarding as I like to pass on any knowledge or experience I have of fitness and exercise to anyone who would like to change their LIFEstyle, and watch them change.
I joined Life in January 2010 and I’m now working towards NVQ qualifications in fitness instruction through Neath College. At 18, I am currently the youngest member of the team.
Whilst at school, I played both rugby and soccer but from the age of 14 took a keen interest in the fitness industry and joined a gym for the first time at 15.
I am really grateful to Life for giving me the chance to get first-hand experience of working in a professional and forward thinking fitness club. I have already learned a lot about the industry and this experience is proving invaluable in my career development.

I have more than 20 years international experience in marketing and PR across a variety of industry sectors.
It’s a real pleasure to support the Life team in their marketing drive to position the club as one of Swansea’s foremost fitness centres.
